A quiet house, built on stones.
R.R. (Rare Rubies) Stones Trading Co. Ltd. was established in 2002 in Bangkok by a trio of third-generation gem dealers who had spent their twenties travelling between Mogok, Ratnapura, and the Kagem mine in Zambia.
We have never sought to be the largest house. We have, instead, sought to be the most useful one — to the collector who wants a single defining piece, and to the trade partner who needs assurance that every stone in their case is traceable from origin to setting.
Today the atelier sits on Silom Road in Bangkok, with by-appointment showrooms in Hong Kong and Geneva. Every piece we sell is hand-graded in-house and accompanied by an independent gemological certificate.

First Mogok Acquisition
Acquires a 4.2 ct unheated Burmese ruby — the first of what will become a defining specialty for the house.

Gemfields Partnership
Becomes one of six worldwide Authorized Auction Partners of Gemfields, gaining direct access to Kagem and Montepuez supply.

Atelier Doubles
The Bangkok workshop expands to accommodate a full team of setters, polishers, and gemological graders.

Geneva Showroom
By-appointment showroom opens in Geneva, serving European private clients and trade partners.

The Spring Edit
Releases the largest single-house Mogok ruby edit on record — 22 unheated stones, all GRS-certified.

In 2014, R.R. Stones became one of six worldwide Authorized Auction Partners of Gemfields — the world's largest producer of responsibly-sourced coloured gemstones. The partnership gives us first-call access to ruby parcels from Montepuez (Mozambique) and emerald parcels from Kagem (Zambia) at quarterly invitation-only auctions.
The practical benefit for our clients is provenance: every coloured stone in our case can be traced to the specific auction date and parcel, with a chain-of-custody record available on request.

Provenance First
We will not stock a stone we cannot trace to its origin. No exceptions.
Hand Graded
Every stone is graded in-house using calibrated equipment and master sets — and verified by an independent laboratory.
Atelier Set
Settings are executed by our own bench team in Bangkok. Nothing is outsourced.
Lifetime Care
Cleaning, re-polishing, and resetting are complimentary for life — at any of our three locations.
